February 5, 2020—Cleveland, OH—SME Cleveland has named Jennifer Malcolm, president and CEO of full-service digital marketing agency Jennasis & Associates, as a 2020 Distinguished Marketing and Sales Award (DMSA) recipient.
The DMSA is the profession’s premier honor to acknowledge excellence and provide community recognition for outstanding sales and marketing achievements. Winners were selected based on the highest business, professional and ethical standards—including criteria around exemplary leadership and management, innovative strategies and tactics, extraordinary sales results, and strong community and professional involvement.
“Jennifer’s innovative leadership has seen this company grow from a one-woman business to a thriving virtual company of more than 50 team members nationwide,” says Kelly Waite, Jennasis CSO, who nominated Malcolm for the award. “We doubled in business last year because she’s built a model that helps businesses thrive through scalable marketing resources, while providing talented professionals with nontraditional employment opportunities to better balance their lives.”
Malcolm founded Jennasis & Associates in 2011 out of her home following a divorce, with the goal of continuing to be present to raise her three children. She leads and encourages team members to find their own work-life balance, Waite says, tapping an often-underutilized talent pool—including stay-at-home caregivers, among others—to offer clients a variety of skills and talents to meet demanding marketing, administration or consulting needs. This flexible, virtual environment has been recognized by Smart Business Magazine, O, The Oprah Magazine and Entrepreneur, among others.
Malcolm receives the prestigious DMSA recognition alongside other leaders of prominent Northeast Ohio organizations including Cedar Point, Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, The Cleveland Orchestra and Cleveland Clinic.
DMSA award winners will be recognized at the 59th Annual Awards Banquet on Thursday, February 20, 2020 at Executive Caterers at Landerhaven. The evening begins with a reception at 5:30 pm, followed by dinner at 7:00 pm and the program at 8:00 pm. This year’s event also will honor Micki Byrnes, president and DM of WKYC Cleveland, as the 2020 Business Executive of the Year.
